| Description: |
| Held on August Bank Holiday Sunday, the Bristol Avon Regatta is organised jointly by Avon County Rowing Club and City of Bristol Rowing Club. The regatta is held on a two lane, 500m, straight course with stake boats (stern start), through the historic Bristol Docks. The start is situated near two famous ships: the SS Great Britain (built by Brunel) and The Matthew (a reconstruction of the ship which was first sailed to North America). The course offers an excellent view of all the action through the day. The event is well supported by the public and rowing clubs alike. For local companies, it is a great opportunity to sponsor a local event. |
